“A tribute to extraordinary people”

This is our tribute to thinkers, philosophers, writers, poets, historians, mathematicians, scientists, statisticians, computer scientists, and all of the extraordinary people. Essentially, a token of appreciation for those great minds that devoted their lives in the pursuit of all that they believed and did not believed in passionately and whose work impacts our lives today and shall continue to do so for years to come. We also desire to honor and acknowledge the people behind the scenes, without whose contributions and commitment the materialization of these achievements would not have been possible.

Thousands of extraordinary people have contributed directly or indirectly to what has been defined as Data Science. It was a challenging and emotional task for us to narrow it down to twenty one great people. We've spent hours discussing and passionately debating who should be included in this list. We are delighted to produce this incomplete list. We think any effort to shortlist the great people will always be incomplete.
